About Us
Our mission is to provide shelter, healthcare and neglect/abuse intervention for stray and abandoned pets. To provide humane education, enhancing the human-animal bond and to end pet over-population through an aggressive spay/neuter campaign.
Our Vision
Lewis Clark Animal Shelter envisions a time when our community celebrates the human-animal bond, embraces the mutual benefits therein and treats all fellow beings with care, compassion and respect; a time when LCAS is primarily a resource for health, education and recreational services for animals and people.
Serving the Lewis Clark Valley Since 1950
The Lewis Clark Animal Shelter has been serving the Lewis Clark Valley since 1950, providing essential services for both animals and the community. These services include:
- Sheltering and adopting animals
- Fear Free reinforcement behavior training for adoptable pets
- A foster kitten program
- The P.A.W.S. Training Program at Idaho Correctional Institution - Orofino
- Reduced-cost spay/neuter surgeries
- Assistance in cases of animal cruelty and neglect
- Opportunities for adult and youth volunteers
- Pet-assisted therapy programs
- Animal rescue during emergencies
As a nonprofit organization, the shelter relies on community support, contributions, grants, bequests, investments, and service fees to continue its mission.
